What is the difference between the split modes?
Extract Selected keeps only the pages you tick. Every N Pages cuts the document into equal chunks. All Separate writes every page to its own file.
Can I get a page as a picture instead?
Yes. PDF to Images saves any page as an image at the resolution you choose, which is usually better than a screenshot.
