Common questions
Which format should I use?
WebP for the smallest web ready file, JPG for the widest compatibility, PNG when transparency matters, ICO for a favicon and BMP when another program insists on it.
Does converting lose quality?
Converting to a lossless format keeps the pixels but can make the file much larger. Converting to a lossy one re-encodes the image, so a little detail is lost each time it happens.
