What cookies are
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to remember. Cookies let a site keep you signed in, remember your settings, show a relevant ad, or count visits. They travel with every request you make to the site that set them.
Local storage works the same way but stays inside the browser instead of travelling with requests. This page covers both.
Cookies this site sets
None.
resizedphoto itself never sets a cookie. The only data this site stores is the small list of preferences below, and it all lives in your browser's local storage.
Local storage this site uses
Three preferences are saved in your browser's local storage:
- Theme — whether you chose the light or dark theme. Stored under the key
rp-theme. - Sidebar — whether the navigation drawer was open. Stored under the key
rp-sidebar. - Ad choice — whether you agreed to see advertising. Stored under the key
rp-ads-consent.
Local storage is not a cookie. It stays in your browser, on your device, and it is never sent to us or to anyone else. It contains no personal information. You can remove it at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings, and you can change your ad choice at any time from the Ad settings link in the footer.
Advertising cookies
Set by Google, not by us, and only when you allow advertising.
This site shows ads through Google AdSense. If you press Allow ads, Google loads its advertising script, and that script sets cookies and similar identifiers. If you press No ads, the script is never loaded and none of these are set.
The cookies Google commonly uses for advertising are:
- NID — used to deliver ads and limit how many times the same ad appears. Usually kept for six months.
- IDE — a DoubleClick cookie used to measure ad performance and to build an interest profile for ad personalisation. Usually kept for one to two years.
- DSID — used to connect a browser to an ad that was shown on another site. Usually kept for a short period.
- test_cookie — a check that your browser accepts cookies. Usually removed within minutes.
- 1P_JAR — Google's general-purpose cookie, used for ad measurement and preference storage. Usually kept for 30 days.
- ANID, __gads, __gpi — advertising identifiers used to deliver and measure ads. Usually kept for one to two years.
Google publishes the full list, and the rules for each one, in How Google uses data from sites and apps that use our services. The exact set depends on which ad is served and where you are, so it can change.
Analytics cookies
Not used by us.
We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics script, and we do not use tracking pixels. The only measurement on this site is the ad reporting that comes with AdSense, which Google handles on its own side. If analytics is ever enabled, it will require your consent before it loads, and this page will list the exact cookie names, the company that sets them, their purpose, and how long they last.
Third-party cookies
Google, for advertising, once you have agreed to it.
Google AdSense is the only third party that runs on this site. The sponsored links on the home page point to other companies; following one of those links takes you to a site with its own cookie policy, which is outside our control. We have no way to read or write what those sites store.
How to manage cookies and site data
Every major browser lets you clear cookies and local storage for a single site.
- Chrome and Edge — the padlock or tune icon beside the address bar, then Cookies and site data.
- Firefox — the shield icon, then Clear cookies and site data.
- Safari — Safari then Settings, then Privacy.
To stop personalised ads across the whole web, use Google Ads Settings. To stop ads being served on this site alone, press No ads in the consent sheet, or use Ad settings in the footer at any time.
Because this site stores nothing about you in the browser beyond those three preferences, clearing your browser data costs you nothing except your theme preference and your ad choice.
